This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for northwest Iowa, west central

Iowa, southwest Minnesota, northeast Nebraska, central South

Dakota, east central South Dakota, south central South Dakota and

southeast South Dakota.

.DAY ONE...Today and tonight.

Scattered thunderstorms are possible into this afternoon, mainly

east of the Iowa/Minnesota Highway 60 corridor. Weak funnel clouds

may form as showers are developing, and isolated storms may become

strong enough to produce wind gusts to 60 mph.

Locally heavy rainfall is also possible, though the risk of flash

flooding is low.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Friday through Wednesday.

Additional periods of showers and thunderstorms are forecast Friday

into the weekend. Some storms may become severe, mainly west of U.S.

Highway 81 Friday evening, with a conditional severe risk across the

entire area during the afternoon and evening Saturday. A localized

risk for strong to severe storms may linger into Sunday, but details

are uncertain at this point.

Heat and humidity briefly building into the area Saturday may push

heat indices into the 95 to 105 degree range Saturday afternoon.

.SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT...

Spotter activation is not expected at this time.
