Scattered showers and thunderstorms in central Oklahoma are

expected to move into northeast Oklahoma through this evening as a

disturbance approaches from the west. Daytime heating combined

with low level moisture will allow for a limited severe potential

mainly along and west of highway 75 in northeast Oklahoma. Strong

to locally damaging wind gusts are the primary threat, with also a

locally heavy rain threat. Storm chances continue overnight across

northeast Oklahoma, though severe potentials are forecast to

weaken overnight.

SPOTTER AND EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT ACTION STATEMENT...

Local Spotter Activation May Be Needed.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Friday through Wednesday.

FRIDAY...Thunderstorm Potential...Heavy Rain Potential.

SATURDAY AND SUNDAY...Thunderstorm Potential.

MONDAY...Thunderstorm Potential...Heavy Rain Potential.

TUESDAY AND WEDNESDAY...Thunderstorm Potential.

EXTENDED DISCUSSION...

Storm chances continue through the day Friday for eastern Oklahoma

and northwest Arkansas as a surface boundary tries to slide into

the region. An isolated strong to severe potential exist Friday

along with a locally heavy rain threat.

The summertime pattern with daily thunderstorm potential continues

for the weekend before the subtropical ridge shifts back to the

western United States. Daytime heat index values will remain in

the 95 to 103 degree range through Monday. A frontal boundary will

slip into the region early next week to provide a focus for more

widespread thunderstorms activity.
