Fire Weather Planning Forecast For Southwestern California

National Weather Service Los Angeles/Oxnard CA

326 PM PDT Thu Jun 26 2025

...ELEVATED FIRE WEATHER CONDITIONS RETURN ACROSS THE INTERIOR

FRIDAY INTO SUNDAY, DUE TO GUSTY ONSHORE WINDS WITH WARMING

AND DRYING CONDITIONS...

.DISCUSSION...

Warm and dry (but near normal) conditions will continue over the

mountains and interior areas for the foreseeable future. The warmest

and driest days are expected to be Friday and Saturday across the

interior, with temperatures expected to reach between 90 and 102

degrees, while humidities fall to between 7 and 20 percent.

On the coastal side of the mountains, the marine layer will continue

to moderate conditions, but will gradually become more shallow

by Friday and Saturday morning. High temperatures of 78 to 88 will be

common inland of the beaches with minimum humidities staying above

35 percent. West to northwest winds of 10 to 20 mph with gusts to

30 mph will affect the typical areas each night through Thursday,

like southwest Santa Barbara County and northern Los Angeles County.

Winds strengthen by 5 mph and become more southwesterly Friday

through Sunday. This in combination with the very warm and dry conditions

will result in elevated fire weather conditions over the interior.
