Through 1000 am, scattered showers and isolated thunderstorms will 

slowly grow in intensity and coverage across portions of the Florida

Keys island chain as well as the adjacent near coastal waters, and

the offshore Gulf northwest of the Lower Keys. This activity will 

move generally to the north to northeast at near 10 knots. The 

stronger storms will produce wind gusts of near 25 knots, heavy 

downpours reducing visibility, and a few cloud to surface lightning 

strikes. Several island communities between Marathon and Turkey Point

can expect between a quarter to one half inch of rainfall.
