.NOW...

Through 1100 am, scattered showers thunderstorms will wax and wane

across portions of the Florida Keys island chain, mainly the Middle

and Upper Keys, as well as the adjacent near coastal waters, as well

as the offshore southeastern Gulf northwest of the Lower Keys. This

activity will move generally to the north to northeast at near 10

knots. The stronger storms will produce wind gusts of near 20 knots,

blinding downpours, and occasional cloud to surface lightning

strikes. Several island communities experiencing the strongest and

slowest moving storms between Marathon and Ocean Reef expect between

between one half to one inch of rainfall.
