.NOW...

Through 130 pm, scattered showers and thunderstorms will wax and

wane across portions of the Florida Keys island chain, as well as

the adjacent coastal waters of eastern Hawk Channel and the Straits

of Florida, and the nearshore and offshore Gulf waters. This

activity will move generally to the north to northeast at near 10

knots. The stronger storms will produce wind gusts of 25 to knots,

blinding downpours, and occasional cloud to surface lightning

strikes. Several island communities experiencing the strongest and

slowest moving storms between Vaca Key and Tavernier expect between

between a quarter to a half inch of rainfall.
