.DISCUSSION...

Issued at 141 PM CDT Thu Jun 26 2025

Hot and humid condns were noted acrs the FA Thurs aftn w/ recent

radar mosaic imgry indicating isolated precip activity along the

lower MS River Valley region. Expect additional convective

development acrs Ern Cntrl to SErn AR thru the remainder of the

evng, w/ a few strong storms capable of gusty winds.

The persistence fcst wl win out thru the end of the week, w/ daily

hazardous heat expected to persist into Fri and Sat aftn. The

main source of daily relief wl be dependent on the density of

diurnal Cu, and any isolated to scattered storms that develop

around the FA.

By early next week, expect higher magnitude and covg of precip

chances over much of the FA as a pronounced H500 shortwave trof

pivots Swrd into the Midwest/Great Lakes region, and a trailing,

but weak synoptic cdfrnt extends thru the Cntrl Plains. The frnt

is expected to stall out over the Ozark Plateau region on Mon,

and serve as a focal point for additional rainfall chcs Tues and

Wed, though significant variability is still evident b/w the

last few runs of deterministic GFS/ECMWF solns.

Along w/ incrsg rain chances Mon night and thru the remainder of the

PD, cooler temperatures (relatively speaking) and heat index values

below 100 degrees may be seen as well, and after a few weeks of

typical Arkansas summer, better rain chances and cooler temps are

certainly worth monitoring.

Generally, daily rain chances thru the end of the week wl be

confined to diurnal activity in the aftn to evng, w/ isolated storms

capable of gusty winds and heavy rainfall. The severe weather threat

wl stay low and conditional, w/ an occasional strong storm possible.

VFR condns were noted acrs the FA Thurs aftn, w/ diurnal Cu noted

on recent vis sat imgry. A few initial TS were noted on recent

radar imgry over E Cntrl AR. Expect covg of TS to stay focused

over Cntrl to Ern and SErn AR thru the aftn to evng hrs, w/ gusty

winds the main threats for any storms that do impact terminals.

Otherwise, diurnal Cu and SWrly winds wl be the main notes on

Thurs w/ no other sig wx expected thru the PD.
