...FLOOD ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 815 PM EDT THIS EVENING...



* WHAT...Urban and small stream flooding caused by excessive 

  rainfall is expected.



* WHERE...A portion of central North Carolina, including the 

  following counties, Alamance and Guilford.



* WHEN...Until 815 PM EDT.



* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. 

  Water over roadways.



* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...

  - At 607 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to

    thunderstorms. This will cause urban and small stream

    flooding. Between 0.5 and 1 inch of rain has fallen.

  - Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 1.5 inches are expected

    over the area. This additional rain will result in minor

    flooding.

  - Some locations that will experience flooding include...

    Greensboro, McLeansville, Summerfield, Gibsonville,

    Monticello, Lake Townsend Marina, Lake Townsend, Lake

    Guilford Mackintosh Marina, Altamahaw, Altamahaw-Ossipee, Haw

    River State Park, Lake Jeanette Marina, Glen Raven, Lake

    Brandt, Lake Burlington and Lake Cammack Park & Marina.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...



Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood 

deaths occur in vehicles.



Be aware of your surroundings and do not drive on flooded roads.
