Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood 

deaths occur in vehicles.

* WHAT...Moderate flooding is occurring and moderate flooding is 

  forecast.



* WHERE...Mud Creek at Sweetwater.



* WHEN...Until tomorrow afternoon.



* IMPACTS...At 18.0 feet, There will be widespread lowland flooding 

  and Highway 68 access to Ravenna will be under water. In addition, 

  water may encroach on Highway 2 between Hazard and Sweetwater.



* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...

  - At 8:45 AM CDT Thursday the stage was 18.3 feet.

  - Bankfull stage is 15.0 feet.

  - Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours

    ending at 8:45 AM CDT Thursday was 18.3 feet.

  - Forecast...The river is expected to fall below flood stage

    late this evening and continue falling to 8.1 feet Tuesday

    morning.

  - Flood stage is 16.5 feet.

  - Flood History...This crest compares to a previous crest of

    17.9 feet on 06/18/1962.

* WHEN...Until Saturday morning.



* IMPACTS...At 10.0 feet, Minor lowland flooding occurs in pastures 

  and farm lands.



* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...

  - At 8:45 AM CDT Thursday the stage was 7.4 feet.

  - Bankfull stage is 9.0 feet.

  - Forecast...The river will rise above flood stage late this

    evening to 10.3 feet tomorrow morning. It will then fall

    below flood stage early tomorrow afternoon to 6.6 feet Sunday

    morning. It will rise to 6.8 feet early Monday morning. It

    will then fall again and remain below flood stage.

  - Flood stage is 10.0 feet.

  - Flood History...This crest compares to a previous crest of

    10.0 feet on 04/25/2001.
