...Discussion from Monterey...

Marine layer and brief warning trend will be the stories for the

next few days. A very weak area of high pressure will trickle across

the service area Friday and Saturday causing a rise in daytime high

temperatures. Overnight temps will fall into normal ranges under the

marine layer. Areas above the marine layer will remain on the warm

side with weak RH recoveries both Friday and Saturday nights. The

pattern seems to be setting up tonight to see some light offshore

winds along area ridges in the early AM hours of Friday, with the

strongest winds over the North Bay Interior Mountains. Gusts are

not expected to exceed 25 mph and remain in the 5 to 10 mph range

elsewhere. This will reinforce the drying expected the next few

days. A cooling trend will return next week.

Note : All winds are 20-foot Winds Unless otherwise specified.

Thunderstorms imply strong, gusty and erratic winds.

...Discussion from Los Angeles/Oxnard...

...ELEVATED FIRE WEATHER CONDITIONS RETURN ACROSS THE INTERIOR FRIDAY

INTO SUNDAY, DUE TO GUSTY ONSHORE WINDS WITH WARMING AND DRYING

CONDITIONS...

Warm and dry (but near normal) conditions will continue over the

mountains and interior areas for the foreseeable future. The warmest

and driest days are expected to be Friday and Saturday across the

interior, with temperatures expected to reach between 90 and

102 degrees, while humidities fall to between 7 and 20 percent. On

the coastal side of the mountains, the marine layer will continue to

moderate conditions, but will gradually become more shallow by

Friday and Saturday morning. High temperatures of 78 to 88 will be

common inland of the beaches with minimum humidities staying above

35 percent. West to northwest winds of 10 to 20 mph with gusts to

30 mph will affect the typical areas each night through Thursday,

like southwest Santa Barbara County and northern Los Angeles County.

Winds strengthen by 5 mph and become more southwesterly Friday

through Sunday. This in combination with the very warm and dry

conditions will result in elevated fire weather conditions over the

interior.
